How to instill in your child a craving for knowledge

Of course, every parent wants his child to get all the best and grow up to be a mature and successful person, and education and is one of the keys to a good upbringing. But neither parents nor the best teachers can help if the child himself categorically refuses to study, is not interested in anything, and reacts passively or aggressively to attempts by his parents to enroll him in courses or in an art school. However, there are ways to gently influence the child so that he has a desire to grow and develop.

Rule 1
No matter how strange it may seem, but you should not force the child to study. Pressing can only beat off the last interest in learning. Of course, it is necessary to control the progress of children, but in a soft way and, when planning a child’s day, allocate free time for leisure, entertainment and communication with friends. Good academic performance should be encouraged, but bad grades should not be punished. But you can show your child your grief and disappointment, as a rule, this is a more effective method than screaming and threatening, because children are also more pleased to see the joy on the faces of their parents, and not disappointment and despondency.

Rule 2
Perhaps this is the most important rule. It is imperative to talk with the child, and not only on everyday topics, but also listen carefully to his stories and answer questions in detail, without brushing aside, encouraging new questions and conversations, and this should be done from an early age, much earlier than the child will go to school. Also, noticing that the child shows interest in a certain area – drawing, music, cooking, you need to encourage this interest and provide him with the necessary information.

Rule 3
A very useful habit is family reading. Families in which parents read books, constantly buy them and read aloud to the child at bedtime from an early age automatically instill in their children a thirst for knowledge. It is very useful, for example, to arrange joint reading: for example, to gather in the evening with parents and children and read a novel aloud. By the way, such a habit in the 19th century was in noble families, where a quality education was necessary. It is useful to read not only fiction, but also scientific literature.

Rule 4

Mother Saying Goodbye To Children As They Leave For School

As you know, the personal qualities of a child are laid at an early age, and very often children directly perceive what they see in front of them. Therefore, the advice for parents is very simple – you need to inspire the child by your own example, because up to a certain age, it is dad and mom who are the model and the only possible model of behavior for their child. Therefore, if parents have hobbies, hobbies and some interests in which they are constantly developing, most likely their child will have similar qualities.

Rule 5
It is necessary from an early age to encourage children’s independence within acceptable limits, to allow him to independently explore the world around him, not limiting, but gently guiding him. If parents in childhood decide and do everything for the child, reminding him that he will not cope, is too small, or will spoil everything, then this fear of being condemned can stick in him for a long time and further prevent him from realizing his aspirations, limit in an attempt to learn new things, and also such a child may grow up infantile and weak-willed.
Among other things, it is important to constantly support the child, and let him know that his parents are pleased with his success, but not overpraise, otherwise the child may become overly self-confident. The result of such work will be an adequate assessment by the child of his abilities and an understanding that his life is the result of his actions.
